Equanimity is a mental quality that helps us stay grounded and non-reactive, even in the midst of that pain. It’s a valuable resource for breaking addictive and compulsive habits and behaviors, as it allows us to sit with what’s happening, and turn toward that pain with compassion, rather than running away from it.
